This is spot on - couldn’t agree more. There’s so much pressure to publish frequently. And when I don’t, I feel inferior. I’ve got huge gaps between some of my stories, but I’m ok with this and feel validated after reading your advice. Sure, I could fill the spaces with stories I’ve got sitting in my literary parking lot, but that would mean publishing just for the sake of putting words out without regard to quality. I’ll stick to what works for me and am glad others feel the same way.
